Our Evangelist / Minister

David Coggin

David Coggin with wife Maria and sons Carl-David and Benjamin

David was born in Nashville, Tennessee in 1973. Shortly afterwards his family moved to Knoxville where he lived for more than ten years.

David grew up in the church of Christ and became a Christian in 1985 after several conversations with his father and a teacher. In junior high school David took a science class in which the teacher taught evolution. Knowing evolution to be untrue, he had an argument about the teachings. It made him think about, and then turn to, the Bible. After some studying and talking with others, David was baptised. David's father, Gerald, serves as an elder with the North Boulevard Church of Christ in Murfreeboro, Tennessee.

He graduated from Oakland High School and went to Lipscomb University, graduating in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Organization and Communication. He is currently working on his master's degree in Bible via a Lipscomb University

After graduating in 1996, David worked for National Health Care in the accounting department. In 1997, David went on campaign to Dundee, Scotland and decided to come back in January 1998 to work with the church for a year. He joined the preaching team at Clydebank. In the autumn of 1998 he began helping with the Tuesday night youth group and Thursday night Bible classes in Cumbernauld and in 2000, David joined Adam and Graham leaving Clydebank to work full-time work in Cumbernauld

In December 2000 he married Maria Holder of Chester-le-Street, England. God blessed them with a son, Carl David, in July 2002.

In May 2004, David left Scotland to become the full time worker with the Newcastle upon Tyne congregation

Their second son, Benjamin Gerald Martin Coggin was born on Friday 22 April 2005

David's work is sponsored by the North Boulevard Church of Christ, Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
