Never look to "outward circumstances" or 'current events' to try and figure out "what is God trying to tell us?".  Jona tried it and look where it landed him... in the drink where he becomes fish food!

The boat was there waiting for him; there was passage available on it; he had the money in his pocket. "Chee" says Jona.. "This must be God's will that I go to Tarshish. Circumstances all point in that direction.  All things line up & even though I was intending to run away from God and the instructions He gave me... it must be OK & He's not really mad at me because after all... everything here lines up. God has provided a Boat with a Berth & I have the Bucks...! All things looked good.

Man overboard! JAWS!!
