A very wet and blustery day greeted the six riders who braved the elements and signed on for the first round of the March 10 series.
The first rider on the road was Dave Evans, Pontypool RCC who held off his minute man, Nigel Pearce until well after the turn. Third rider on the road, Paul Durrant, M&D Cycles was quickly overhauled by first Ian Davies and then by Rhys Rowlands. Approaching the turn, Rowlands had his minute man Ian Davies in sight and had taken a good 30 seconds out of him, but Ian responded at the turn and upped his effort to keep Rhys at bay.
Clint Evans, starting a good five minutes after everybody else, nevertheless managed to produce a good ride that saw him finish in third place.
